About Chris Maroni
Chris Maroni is a country based photographer residing with her husband
and two children on their home farm in Toodyay, Western Australia. Here
she drives both her family and the locals mad with her high energy and enthusiasm
to capture all that is around her.
She explains, I have a fire burning within and desire
to record every magical moment. Life itself excites me. I am fortunate to be physically fit and able, I am grateful for just this. Living in the moment is so important. Life can be so very fragile. For this reason being able to capture snippets of life by creating and recording memories for clients, it is a wonderful and rewarding experience to be a photographer".
Chris's attraction to photography was noted from a young age where she was keen to record her surroundings of the Pilbara on film as each opportunity presented. Processing film and her own prints in a dark room at South Hedland Senior High School began at the early age of thirteen.
By seventeen years of age, Chris knew that her passions where clearly identified. Humans, the equine world, travel and photography fascinated her and were to become part of her lifes journey.
She graduated from the West Australian School of Nursing in 1989. From here she
commenced a 20 year career within the airline industry. Her life path to date
has taken her all over the world capturing thousands of images in most countries.
The scope of her photo's ranges from portraits of the suffering orphans in
Dacca-Bangladesh to the riches of snow flakes falling on Champs Elysees in
Paris. The contrasts of these glimpses of life always remaining clear in her
mind.
Her skills and experience have been constantly developing over time. This is reflected by the increasing demand for her to cover Weddings, portrait shoots, event bookings and her continued work with Australia's leading horse magazines, Hoofbeats.
Chris said With Digital Photography evolving almost
daily and the introduction of photoshop , its important for me to keep abreast
of these continuous changes in technology.
She
manages this by studying with the Australian Institute of Photography. Her
equipment is second to none with current model Canon cameras and lens. What
started as a hobby and a distant dream has now become reality. In recent
years Chris has taken a leap of faith and established Chris Maroni Photography,
bringing you unrelenting enthusiasm, attention to detail, integrity, and
a creative and dynamic approach to her chosen art Chris is quoted as saying- Taking
photographs is not work for me, it is a pleasure and an honour to be asked
to capture peoples memories of the moment .
